Get to know us

Started in 2016, Frekuent is now the all-in-one payment and loyalty platform for unattended environments — 500+ clients, 100M+ transactions a year, 2.5M+ users across Spain, France, Italy, Portugal, and Singapore. We turn one-time buyers into lifetime clients with cashless, contactless, effortless payments: less friction, more reasons to come back.

2026 has been our biggest year yet — we've hyperscaled from 40 to 100+ people, with more hires on the way, and closed a €6M funding round to fuel what's next.

And we're just getting started — our goal is to become the default payment and loyalty layer behind every unattended transaction, everywhere.

Why this role exists

Growing from 40 to 100+ people in a year means our Business area — Sales, Marketing, Operations, New Business and International — now runs many projects at once, and they depend on each other. We're looking for a Business Project Manager intern to help keep every cross-team project and commitment visible in one plan, and to spot delays before they reach clients or launches.

You'll work directly with the General Manager of the Business area, who will be your mentor. Expect real projects, regular feedback, a seat in leadership follow-up meetings, and hands-on project management experience in how a fast-growing scale-up plans and delivers its work — with the option to stay on after the internship.

What you'll actually do

  • Help keep one shared plan in Jira (our project tracking tool) where every team commitment has an owner, a date and its dependencies.

  • Check in weekly with each team on progress and update the plan before the weekly follow-up meeting.

  • Spot delays and blockers early, map how they could affect other teams, clients or launches, and flag them to the General Manager with an idea to fix them.

  • Prepare the weekly progress update (done / at risk / delayed) and help build the monthly dashboard for leadership.

  • Support follow-up meetings: draft the agenda, note decisions and load new commitments into Jira the next day.

  • Learn project management by doing: help improve our Jira workflows and templates, and present one improvement of your own by the end of your internship.

What you bring

  • Final-year student or recent graduate in Business Administration, Engineering or similar, able to sign an internship agreement (convenio de prácticas) with your university or business school.

  • Some familiarity with a project tool like Jira, Trello, Asana or Notion, from class, projects or on your own — we'll teach you the rest.

  • Organised and rigorous: you like clear lists, deadlines, and nothing slipping through the cracks.

  • Comfortable following up with people more senior than you, kindly but clearly.

  • Clear, concise communication, in writing and in meetings.

  • Native Spanish and professional English (you'll work with our international teams).

Bonus points if you...

  • Have done a previous internship or part-time job in project management, PMO, consulting or supporting a management team.

  • Have coordinated people, timelines or events in a university project or student association.

  • Speak Catalan.

  • Are comfortable using AI tools to summarise notes and work faster.

  • Are curious about payments, fintech or retail tech.

How we work

  • Fast, autonomous, low-bureaucracy.

  • We measure output, not hours in a chair.

  • Resilience means iterating until it works — not giving up early.
